Royal Barge Bangkok

Eight Colorful designed amazing Royal teak wood carved barges with mythical features, gold painted and decorated with glittering pieces of glass. Every barge is registered as national heritage. Originally troop carriers, and later used for religious and ceremonial functions. 46 meters long, rowed by 50 and 14 crewmen specially trained. One of the most beautiful, and spectacular ceremony can be seen in an ornamented Royal procession on the Chao Phraya once every few years. If you are in Bangkok on  November this year (2018), don’t miss the opportunity to assist at the celebration of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal procession will start near the Rama 8 bridge to Wat Arun. 2 rehearsals will take place on the 2nd and the 6th of November. I will confirm when I have more details.
